Many people were against it because they believed we were meddling with a civil war and it was not our responsibility and the people did not want our soldiers to be over there. Others did not like the military tactics that were used such as the chemicals that had such disastrous effects on innocent people.
There were many songs that were influenced by the Vietnam War because there were a lot of people who did not want to be drafted to do something they did not want to do. The 60’s were a time of human rights and equality in America, and the attitude of society on the war was portrayed into song.
